A Voice To Empower Kentucky Beef ProducersAs a member, you’re among more than 11,000 cattlemen and cattlewomen across the state who bring a unified voice for Kentucky’s cattle industry. From representation at all levels of government to great marketing opportunities through our KCA Communications Department to educational and professional development opportunities, the Kentucky Cattlemen's Association seeks to provide members with the information they need to make their operation a success. Legislation: KCA serves as the voice for all Kentucky cattlemen in front of Congress, the state legislature and government agencies. KCA works proactively with our members on all policy issues affecting cattle producers and the beef industry including: international trade, tax & credit issues, food safety, animal health, property rights, environment, federal lands issues, drought relief, marketing, nutrition, and much more. Your KCA membership furthers our opportunities to address these issues and to work with our agriculture partners to respond to attacks from groups like the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), PETA and others whose goal is the abolition of animal agriculture. Information: The Cow Country magazine is dedicated to communicating cattle and beef industry news, legislative and membership updates, and current events to KCA membership and others interested in the Kentucky cattle industry. Promotion: As the qualified state beef council, KCA supports the Kentucky Beef Council and its programs which focus on consumers, industry partners, and health professionals. The beef checkoff utilizes proactive public relations and advertising to educate consumers on a variety of beef topics from pasture to plate. The Kentucky Beef Council proudly maintains a reputation as a source of reliable science based information for all beef producers. Programs such as the Masters of Beef Advocacy and Beef Quality Assurance programs are in place to enhance the quality and image of beef through producer education. Membership in the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association is open to any individual or organization that has an interest in the cattle industry of Kentucky. KCA’s funding is generated by voluntary dues paid by the over 11,000 members belonging to KCA. There are 99 Cattlemen’s Association Chapters that represent beef producers across the state and serve as a link between local associations and KCA.
